Review & Score
Nose: Toasted saltine cracker, rose hip, dried blueberry, and sweet corn.
Palate: Vanilla and caramel peak through. Buckwheat, butter, pear, and cheerios.
Body: Mild and pleasant with more heat on the back end of the sip.
Finish: It starts sweet and mild and dissolves into a bite of honeysuckle, dried oak, and leather.
Conclusion: The pour is definitely an enjoyable one. It’s smooth, picking up a sharpness after the initial mellow, but nothing that makes it unpleasant. It is great straight, over ice, or in cocktails that aren’t overly complex to compliment the mild complexity of the dram itself. Buffalo Trace has done it again, and at this price, it’s one you shouldn’t pass up.
